A bit more enlightened

So I started my journey to enlightenment today with my first at home Yoga session. If I had to put a number on it I’d say I’m 1% closer to becoming one with the universe. That’s how Yoga works right? For those of you who yoga (am I saying that right?), is there some kind of app that I can get that will track my progress down the yellow brick road of transcendence? Also at what point will I be able to astral project? Finally, do you think I’m setting my expectations too high?

While I may not be treating my entry into the world of Yoga with the seriousness that it deserves, I will say that this first session felt good. yogasetupThe lady in my DVD (Claire Diab) is a bit over-the-top, but the routine was easy to follow and she provided good cues and instruction. A big thank you to Sarah for letting me use her mat, blocks, and cushion so that I could make this sweet Yoga setup. Oh, and on that note, Sarah I used your mat, blocks, and cushion this morning, love you!

I haven’t picked out any milestones for my Yoga training yet. At this point I’m going to focus on building it into my routine so that it becomes a habit. For now that will be three times a week: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday. I figure with that schedule and my natural abilities I’ll be a full fledged Yogi by mid-May. After that I’ll start picking some specific poses to conquer. I think I’m really getting a feel for this yoga thing.
